IndyCar News: Saturday Morning Report from the Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250
Good morning from the Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park for Round 16 of the NTT INDYCAR Series. There was a ten-minute delay this morning to dry the moisture that was on the track.
Alex Palou, driver of the No. 10 DHL Ganassi Racing entry, has wrapped up the championship after the last race at Portland. This is his fourth championship in five years, all with Ganassi Racing. He is the first INDYCAR driver to clinch the championship with two races remaining since Cristiano da Matta secured the title with three races left in 2002.
The relaxed 28-year-old has eight wins this season and is hoping to make that ten.
“I am going to try and win the last two races and go for ten wins. This opens up an opportunity for us to get here with two big goals that we have every season, the 500 and the championship.”
“I have personally struggled on short ovals, like here, but like the super speedway of Nashville. This weekend, I can be more aggressive with car changes or my approach to focus on winning the race. It is so fun.”
Here is the schedule for today in Central Time.
10:00 am IndyCar Practice 1 FS1
1:00 pm IndyCar Qualifying FS1
2:30 pm IndyNXT by Firestone Qualifying FS2
3:30 pm IndyCar Low-Line Practice FS2
4:30 pm IndyCar Final Practice FS2
Stay tuned for updates.
