Since its debut in F1’s inaugural 1950 season, the Monaco Grand Prix has been a cornerstone of the sport, renowned for its challenging 3.3-kilometer circuit through Monte Carlo’s narrow, winding streets. The race demands unparalleled skill and focus from drivers, while its glamorous backdrop cements its status as one of the world’s premier sporting events.

In recent years, the race has delivered unforgettable moments. In 2024, Charles Leclerc made history as the first Monegasque driver to win his home Grand Prix, followed by Lando Norris claiming his maiden Monaco victory in 2025. The circuit has also been conquered by current stars like Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen, alongside legends such as Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda, Sir Jackie Stewart, and Graham Hill.
Significant investments have enhanced the fan experience, with upgrades to the paddock and F1 Paddock Club offering diverse packages. This year, F1’s Global Partner, MSC Cruises, introduced a unique addition by docking its EXPLORA II ship in Port Hercule, providing guests with prime views near the paddock and exclusive events throughout race week.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed his enthusiasm: “The streets of Monaco have reverberated with the sound of Formula 1 since the sport’s earliest days. I’m thrilled to extend this iconic event to 2035. Its unique atmosphere and glamorous setting make it a favorite among drivers and fans alike. My heartfelt thanks go to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Michel Boeri, and everyone ensuring the enduring success of this historic partnership.”
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco added: “Extending the Monaco Grand Prix to 2035 upholds a cherished sporting and historical tradition. This renewed commitment reflects our successful collaboration with Formula 1 and Monaco’s unique place in global motorsport.”
Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco, echoed this sentiment: “We are deeply grateful for the steadfast support of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and the trust of Stefano Domenicali. This four-year extension underscores the strong bond between Formula 1 and Monaco. We remain committed to delivering an exceptional, world-class race weekend for passionate fans worldwide, a tradition that began in 1929. I also commend the F1 community, our volunteers, and Monegasque institutions for their vital role in making this event extraordinary.”
