Formula 1 News: Tyler Epp to head Cadillac F1 Commercial Strategy
The Cadillac Formula 1 team, set to debut in the 2026 championship, has appointed Tyler Epp (pictured) as its Global Head of Commercial Strategy. Epp, previously the president of the Miami Grand Prix, brings extensive experience to the role.
Under Epp’s leadership, the Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium became a standout event on the F1 calendar, drawing sell-out crowds and securing four of the five largest live U.S. TV audiences in Formula 1 history since its 2022 debut. The event’s success led to a contract extension, ensuring its place on the calendar through 2041.
Epp’s career spans over two decades in senior roles across multiple sports, including the Kansas City Chiefs, where he served as Vice President of Business Development and later as Executive Vice President of Business Operations. He also held leadership positions with the San Diego Padres, Hall of Fame Racing (NASCAR), Sports Management Network, and Chip Ganassi Racing.
“I’ve dedicated much of my career to racing and redefining American motorsports,” Epp said. “Joining the Cadillac Formula 1 Team is an exciting opportunity to elevate our sport in the U.S. and globally. Rooted in American tradition and ingenuity, this team is poised to become a global force in F1, and I’m thrilled to be part of it from the start.”
Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac F1 and TWG Motorsport, praised Epp’s appointment: “Tyler’s transformative work with the Miami Grand Prix showcases his unique expertise in the sport. He’s the ideal leader to build our team’s commercial strategy.”
Team Principal Graeme Lowdon added: “Building a team from the ground up demands exceptional leadership. Tyler’s proven ability to create world-class organizations will be a vital asset as we realize our ambitious vision for Cadillac Formula 1.”
Cadillac F1 recently confirmed Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas as its 2026 drivers, with IndyCar star Colton Herta signed as test driver. The team is reportedly seeking a $70 million annual title sponsor and has already secured partnerships with Tommy Hilfiger and Jim Beam.
