Formula 1 News: Verstappen and Hamilton highest paid race drivers in the world
Max Verstappen’s (pictured with Lewis Hamilton) estimated fortune has increased by nearly $78 million in the past year, bringing his total net worth to just under $305 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has climbed the ranks of the Quote 500 list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to 264th place from 322nd last year.

Despite turning just 28 in late September, he remains the youngest person on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022. At that time, he was the youngest ever to make the list, a record that still stands.
Forbes ranked Verstappen as the world’s 25th highest-paid athlete this year, with earnings just short of $78 million per year. The bulk of this ($72 million) comes from his salary and winnings, with $6 million coming from endorsements.
However, Lewis Hamilton sits higher at 22nd on that list, with earnings just above $80 million per year. Despite his salary and winnings being significantly lower, at just over $60 million, endorsements of $20 million push him slightly ahead of Verstappen.
By comparison, Colton Herta was the highest-paid IndyCar driver in 2025, earning an estimated $7 million annually with Andretti Global. This figure comes from multiple reports on driver salaries, which note it’s higher than predecessors like Scott Dixon (previously around $2 million before Herta’s extension).

For context, other top earners include Pato O’Ward at $5 million and Dixon at $3.5–$4.5 million, but Herta leads based on recent contract details. These salaries are estimates, as IndyCar teams keep exact figures confidential.
