Supercars News: Series re-fuels with bp in multi-year extension

Supercars has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with bp, reaffirming bp’s role as the Official Fuel Supplier and Championship Partner of the Repco Supercars Championship.

The renewed partnership guarantees that Supercars will continue relying on bp Fuel, maintaining a long-standing relationship with bp as the Championship’s Official Fuel provider.

A new feature of the partnership will be the bp Cooldown Room, where podium-finishing drivers will watch back race highlights moments after stepping off the track. The initiative – which will make its first appearance at this weekend’s bp Adelaide Grand Final – will give fans an exclusive look as drivers relive the most dramatic moments of the race.

Fans will also see the bp Ultimate Perspective come to life on social media, with dedicated content pieces featuring fresh elements of a Supercars race weekend, taking the fan view to places they’ve never seen before.

As part of the extended agreement, bp will continue to engage fans through the bp Ultimate Performer Fan Vote, where fans vote on the top performing driver after each Supercars event.

bp’s significant presence at track and on screens of Supercars events will also continue, including familiar sights including bp Ultimate Pit Lane, fuel strategy broadcast analysis, at-track activations, and more.

Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton said the extension reflected the enduring relationship between Supercars and bp.

“As a brand known for its commitment to performance and innovation, bp is a brilliant fit for our Championship and has been an invaluable partner, and we are delighted to extend our partnership through to 2028,” Warburton said.

“The bp Cooldown Room will also be a fantastic addition to the viewer experience, allowing fans to be a fly on the wall as drivers reflect and react to their hard-fought battles on track, almost immediately after getting out of the car.

“There are other exciting plans in the works that will take our partnership with bp to an entirely new level, which we look forward to rolling out ahead of the 2026 season.”

Jo Brecknock, Vice President Marketing, ANZ at bp, said the extension of the partnership with Supercars reflected the strong alignment between the two organisations and bp’s ongoing commitment to the championship.

“This partnership allows us to demonstrate the performance and reliability of our fuel in one of the most demanding environments – on the track.

“We’re proud to continue working with Supercars to engage its very committed fan base and to showcase the role bp plays in keeping the sport moving,” Brecknock said.

“We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with Supercars for years to come.”

The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship begins February 20-22 with the Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park, kicking off an expanded 14-event calendar spanning from February to December, with race events across Australia and New Zealand.
