Track News: Miami GP wins F1 Promoter of the Year at the prestigious Autosport Awards
South Florida Motorsports, the promoter of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GP, has been recognized as Promoter of the Year at the 38th annual Autosport Awards. The prestigious accolade was presented at London’s Roundhouse on January 21, celebrating the event’s outstanding ability to deliver a world-class sporting and entertainment spectacle.
The Promoter of the Year award recognizes the best all-round event of the season, acknowledging excellence in event organization, fan experience, and innovation. The FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GP, held at Miami International Autodrome around Hard Rock Stadium, topped a strong shortlist that included the Las Vegas and Singapore Grands Prix, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Silverstone. It is considered the highest honor a promoter can receive in the sport, and it comes just one year after South Florida Motorsports was named the 2024 Promoter of the Year by Formula 1.

Since debuting in Miami Gardens in 2022, the Grand Prix has quickly established itself as a standout fixture on the Formula 1 calendar, setting new standards for live entertainment, hospitality and fan engagement while continuing to expand the sport’s footprint in the United States. Last year, the event announced a landmark 10-year extension to continue hosting F1 through to 2041.
“We are honored to be named promoter of the year by Autosport. There are so many great events in Formula 1 and this recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team in Miami,” said Tom Garfinkel, Managing Partner of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GP. “From the day we began planning our first race, Stephen Ross and I have endeavored to innovate and create a world-class experience for drivers, teams and fans. We thank our partners and the F1 community and look forward to trying to continue to innovate and improve each year.”
The Autosport Awards are widely regarded as the ‘Oscars of Motorsport’ and have been a fixture of the UK motorsport calendar since the mid 1980s. Each year, the black-tie event brings together the sport’s highest achievers — including drivers, team principals, engineers and promoters — for a night of celebration.
The FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GP continues to cement its status as one of Formula 1’s premier global destinations, sitting at the intersection of elite racing, world-class entertainment, modern luxury and unmistakable Miami energy.
