Formula 1 News: Netflix and Apple TV Join Forces to Stream F1 Thrills

For the first time, Season 8 of the hit Netflix docuseries will stream simultaneously on Netflix globally and on Apple TV in the United States only. The new season drops tomorrow, February 27, and takes viewers inside the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship — the 75th anniversary season of the pinnacle of motorsport.

Season 8 promises all the tension, rivalries, and breakthroughs that made the 2025 campaign unforgettable: six rookies joining the grid, intense teammate battles, major driver and management shake-ups, and a championship fight that went down to the final checkered flag. With new technical regulations looming for 2026, the margin for error has never been smaller across the 10 teams and 20 drivers.

Drive to Survive fans have a new way to go deeper into the sport through a new collaboration between Apple and Netflix,” the official announcement states. Casual fans who fell in love with F1 through the series and die-hard enthusiasts alike will now have expanded options to follow their favorite drivers and teams.

The partnership extends well beyond the docuseries. Apple TV becomes the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for the entire 2026 Formula 1 season, delivering every practice session, qualifying, Sprint race, and Grand Prix. Coverage begins with the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix over the March 5 weekend.

In return, Netflix will bring U.S. viewers live coverage of the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix from May 22-24 — the first time the streaming giant has aired a live F1 race in the country. Drive to Survive fans will finally get to watch the on-track rivalries they’ve followed for years unfold in real time.

The move comes as Apple TV takes over U.S. broadcasting rights from ESPN starting this season, positioning the platform as the new home for comprehensive F1 coverage in America while Netflix continues to expand its footprint in live sports.

Whether you’re catching up on the drama of 2025 through Season 8 or gearing up for the new campaign on the track, 2026 just became the most accessible year yet for American Formula 1 fans.

Season 8 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is now available to stream on Netflix worldwide and Apple TV in the U.S. starting February 27.
