IndyCar News: ENVE Composites to be the Primary Sponsor of Schumacher’s debut

In a significant boost for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL), ENVE Composites has been named the primary sponsor for Mick Schumacher’s No. 47 entry in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The partnership will kick off with Schumacher’s highly anticipated debut at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 1.

ENVE, a Utah-based manufacturer specializing in handmade carbon fiber bicycle frames, rims, and components, will also serve as a full-season major associate sponsor for the team throughout 2026. This collaboration aligns the brand’s focus on performance and innovation with the high-stakes world of INDYCAR racing.

Mick Schumacher, the 27-year-old son of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher, brings a wealth of experience to RLL. His racing pedigree includes 43 Formula One starts, with a best finish of sixth place, and three podiums in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Schumacher’s transition to INDYCAR has been swift and intensive. He first tested an INDYCAR machine on the IMS road course on October 13, 2026, and was officially announced as an RLL driver on November 24.

February proved to be a crucial month for the German driver, marked by key milestones in his preparation. On February 4, he made his oval debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This was followed by a full-field test at Sebring International Raceway on February 9-10, and the INDYCAR Open Test at Phoenix International Raceway on February 17-18. With the season opener approaching, Schumacher is set to tackle three races across varied track types in quick succession, testing his adaptability in the series.

The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule promises excitement, featuring 18 races including new venues in Arlington, Texas; Markham, Ontario, Canada; and Washington, D.C. The St. Petersburg street circuit race will be broadcast live starting at noon ET on FOX, FOX Deportes, FOX One, and the FOX Sports app.

Industry leaders expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. Michael Stimola, CEO of ENVE Composites, stated, “Both ENVE and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing are built on a legacy of performance earned through discipline, innovation and relentless refinement. Mick Schumacher represents the next generation of that pursuit. This partnership connects our engineering philosophy with one of motorsport’s most competitive platforms.”

Jay Frye, President of RLL, echoed the sentiment: “We are proud to represent a brand like ENVE. Their commitment to precision and uncompromising quality mirrors exactly what we strive for every time we hit the track. Success in racing comes down to details, preparation, and execution — and that mindset is something ENVE has built their reputation on.”

Schumacher himself highlighted the synergy: “At this level of racing, the smallest details make the biggest difference. ENVE’s reputation for innovation and performance makes them a natural fit for our INDYCAR program. It’s exciting to have them onboard as the primary sponsor for our debut.”

Founded in Ogden, Utah, ENVE Composites partners with top athletes to blend advanced composite technologies with real-world feedback, delivering products renowned for performance, durability, and quality.

This sponsorship deal not only elevates Schumacher’s entry into INDYCAR but also underscores the growing intersection between cycling innovation and motorsport engineering. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on how this new alliance performs on the track.
