Keselowski earns Coors Light Pole at Kansas

Wheeling his Team Penske ride at 195.503 mph, Brad Keselowski topped the leaderboard during the final round of qualifying at Kansas Speedway, for Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 (2:15 p.m. ET, NBCSN/Live Extra), earning his 10th career Sprint Cup Series Coors Light Pole Award. The No. 2 driver also led opening practice earlier this afternoon at the Midwestern track and paced the field during the opening round of qualifying.
The top five starters is generously peppered with Joe Gibbs Racing drivers, as Carl Edwards will line up alongside Keselowski in second, Kyle Busch qualified third and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five in fifth. Stewart-Haas Racing's Kevin Harvick will roll off the grid fourth on Sunday.
Ten of the 12 Chase drivers advanced to the final round, with Team Penske's Joey Logano (14th) and Hendrick Motorsports' Dale Earnhardt Jr. (15th) came up short in the second session. Logano is the reigning race winner, having reached Victory Lane at the 1.5-mile trioval in October 2014.
Wood Brothers Racing's Ryan Blaney — the lone non-Chase driver in the top eight — topped the leaderboard during the second round and will roll off the grid eighth.
Kansas' most recent winner Jimmie Johnson made it to the second round, but failed to advance to the final 12, earning a 21st-starting position.
Casey Mears smacked the wall during the first round, bringing out the red flag for clean-up and forcing the No. 13 team to switch to a back-up car for the remainder of the weekend. Mears will line up 38th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400.
