Is IndyCar eyeing a CBS TV deal?

This is pure speculation on our part, we'll say that right up front. We have been analyzing the TV scene to try and figure out what new TV deal IndyCar may sign.

One thing that has been making us scratch our head is how did Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly end up on The Amazing Race? IndyCar drivers have done Dancing With The Stars in the past, because IndyCar has some races on ABC and that show is on ABC.

Amazing Race is one of the highest rated shows on the biggest network – CBS.

CBS Sports is headquartered in the CBS Building on West 52nd Street in midtown Manhattan, New York City, with programs produced out of Studio 43 at the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th Street. IndyCar likes to do business deals in Manhattan.

Currently CBS' premier sports properties are the NFL, Southeastern Conference (SEC) football, NCAA basketball (including telecasts of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament), and PGA golf, including The Masters, and the PGA Championship.

The online arm of CBS Sports is CBSSports.com. CBS purchased SportsLine.com in 2004, and today CBSSports.com is part of CBS Interactive.

No motorsports.

But CBS does have a history in motorsports, especially with NASCAR for years.

Why are Rossi and Daly, out of nowhere, on The Amazing Race on CBS? Is CBS ready to dip their toes in the water again and will IndyCar driver participation in The Amazing Race become an annual thing to pump up IndyCar Racing?

Just speculation folks…..but hmm….
