Today’s announcement means that fans visiting next year’s inaugural F1 race weekend in Vietnam will not only be entertained by the exhilarating sight of F1 cars taking on the challenge of the Hanoi Circuit – F1’s newest circuit whose unique hybrid design fuses a street circuit’s characteristics with a permanent track layout – but they will also be able to enjoy all the drama of the Thailand Super Series as it competes on the event’s undercard across the weekend.

Considered the premium motorsport series in the Kingdom of Thailand, the TSS attracts drivers from 16 countries – including Asia, Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand. The diversity that exists among the drivers is echoed in the cars that they drive – mainly high performance GT3 Super Cars – that will ensure true motorsport fans will be kept engrossed by the on-track action outside of the main F1 sessions.

Meanwhile the Thailand Supercar GTM category features an exceptional array of cars including the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup, Lexus RCF-GTM, Ferrari 458 Italia Challenge, Ferrari 488 Italia Challenge while the

Thailand Supercar GTC category will see the likes of the Porsche Cayman GT4, Toyota 86, Seat TCR car, SEAT Leon, Porsche 997 Cup compete.

The TSS race weekend schedule consists of a practice session on Friday, qualifying sessions on Saturday followed by one race on the Saturday and one race on the Sunday. With the race in Hanoi acting as its season opener, the TSS season consists of 10 rounds of racing across 5 race weekends, culminating with the season finale at the Chang International Circuit in November 2020.

Commenting on the announcement earlier today, the CEO of the Vietnam Grand Prix Corporation, Ms. Le Ngoc Chi said: “We welcome the addition of the Thailand Super Series to the Formula 1 VinFast Vietnam Grand Prix program. It is very exciting to see the weekend’s racing schedule beginning to take shape as fans are now going to be able to enjoy the TSS championship series alongside the main event that is the Formula 1 racing itself. For the price of one weekend ticket, I believe that represents excellent value for any true motorsport fan. In addition, we are finalizing our plans for the off-track entertainment offering that will truly make a ticket to the F1 weekend in Hanoi the hottest in town!"

Mr. Sontaya Kunplome, President of the Thailand Super Series, also said: “The coming year represents another important step for TSS as an international motorsports organization. Being chosen as a support race for the Formula 1 race weekend in Hanoi is an incredible opportunity for TSS to showcase itself to a wider global audience. This symbolizes a pivotal moment for us and marks an exciting new chapter in Thailand’s motorsport history. We fully believe that TSS will deliver spectacular excitement and racing action in its role as a support race for this historic Formula 1 weekend."

Taking place from 3rd to 5th April 2020, the inaugural Formula 1 race in Vietnam is set to be a truly sensational race weekend as it sees the pinnacle of motorsport make its debut in Vietnam for the third round of next year’s 22-race FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The Hanoi Circuit itself is shaping up to be one of the most breathtaking circuits in F1. A feat of design, innovation & construction, the track will pose a stern examination of the drivers' strength and skills, whilst providing fans with a weekend of non-stop, adrenaline-fueled racing action.

In addition to the racing action, all ticket holders will also be able to participate in and witness the many entertainment activities, food festivals and live concerts that will be taking place across the circuit and F1 Fanzone all weekend.
