After a late caution with three laps to go Chase Elliott slid up into Joey Logano fighting for the lead with just 3 to go at Bristol and Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer on 4 fresh tires stormed thru to win the Food City 500 NASCAR Cup Race. Jimmie Johnson passed Kyle Busch's Toyota to take third while his Joe Gibbs teammate Erik Jones rounded out the top-5. Austin Dillon, Kurt Busch, William Byron, Chris Bell and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top-10.

Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team’s Stoffel Vandoorne broke his duck in the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge in Support of UNICEF, converting pole position at the fourth time of asking with a cool, calm and collected win in Round 6 from New York. “It’s taken a little while before getting there but today was a perfect result with the race win, pole and fastest lap,” said Vandoorne, whose victory was lights-to-flag. “It’s been coming but today we were fast without any issues and it was 99 per-cent done from there.”

  Larrousse, former Porsche works driver, celebrates his 80th birthday
Gerard Gilles Marie Armand Larrousse was born in 1940 in Lyon, where his father ran a textile factory. “I was fascinated by motorbikes and sports cars from a young age but my family had other plans for me. For my father, cars were mainly a means of transport,” he reminisces. When he was 21 and still a student, he attended the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris and took part in his first rally in France. After completing his studies and military service, Larrousse decided in 1966 to make racing his career.
Chase Elliott week of misery ends with Charlotte victory

Everything finally went right for a change for Chase Elliott on Thursday night, as his luck finally turned around and landed him in Victory Lane with a win in the Alsco Uniforms 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Elliott led the final 28 laps of the final 93-lap segment after powering past race leader Kevin Harvick and then easily out-distanced Denny Hamlin to the line by 2.208 seconds to claim his first NASCAR Cup Series victory of the season and seventh of his career.
