Custer stuns field with first Cup Series win at Kentucky
Rookie beats Truex Jr. by 0.271s
Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Cole Custer roared to his first Cup Series victory Sunday afternoon at Kentucky Speedway, emerging from a late-race restart with a bold four-wide move just after the white flag. Driving the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 41 Ford, Custer led just five of the 267 laps in the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart. The first-year driver also won at the 1.5-mile Kentucky track in Xfinity Series competition last year. Martin Truex Jr. wound up second, 0.271 seconds behind at the checkered flag. Matt DiBenedetto netted third place with a tire-smoking Kevin Harvick fourth and Kurt Busch fifth.
Rosenqvist outduels O'Ward for first IndyCar win
2nd half of Road America doubleheader
Both young drivers were going for their first IndyCar win and it was Felix Rosenqvist who ran down Pato O'ward and passed him with 1.5 laps to go to win the 2nd half of the Road America doubleheader in a hard fought battle. O'Ward led most of the race but in the end O'Ward did not have the tires left to hold off the Ganassi Honda. Alexander Rossi finally got a podium finish but he had nothing for Rosenqvist and O'Ward and had to settle for a distant third.

O'Ward wins pole for IndyCar Race 2 at Road America
  Herta to start alongside
Arrow-McLaren Chevy Mexican ace Pato O'Ward won his first IndyCar pole at Road American Sunday morning and will lead the field to the green for the 2nd half of the IndyCar doubleheader in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Colton Herta topped the Group 2 qualifying but his time was slower than O'Wards and will start on the outside of the front row. Rookie Alex Palou, proved that his third-place finish was no fluke on Saturday and was just 0.0221s away from winning the pole in his Dale Coyne Honda.
Hamilton over Bottas for a Mercedes 1-2 in Austria
  Styrian GP
Lewis Hamilton easily won the pole in the rain yesterday and on Sunday he dominated the Styrian GP from start to finish and beat his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas by a massive 14-seconds. Max Verstappen was a distant third for Red Bull ahead of his teammate Alex Albon. Lando Norris passed a limping Sergio Perez on the last lap for 5th place.
NHRA resumes season in front of limited crowds
  At Indy
Two-time Mello Yello champ Steve Torrence earned the top spot in Top Fuel for the 25th time in his career thanks to a solid 3.779 blast in his Capco Contractors dragster during Saturday’s second qualifying session at the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals. Torrence managed to outrun all of his competitors, and a late-afternoon thunderstorm, to claim the green low qualifier hat.
Creed wins rain-shortened Gander Truck race
  at Kentucky
Sheldon Creed prevailed in a frantic three-wide restart on Lap 52 of Saturday’s Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race and held the spot through the second stage break, earning his first career series victory when lightning and rain showers forced the race to be called official 71 laps into the scheduled 150-lapper.

Scott Dixon holds off Will Power for 3rd straight win
Race 1 of Road America doubleheader
You don't give Scott Dixon the lead on a pitstop and expect to win. Dixon's crew gave him the lead on the final pitstop and then he held off Will Power on two restarts to win race 1 of the IndyCar doubleheader at the 4-mile Road America circuit.  It was the third straight win of 2020 by Dixon to win on a beautiful sunny day in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Dixon is the only driver to win so far this year.
Newgarden wins pole for 1st Road America IndyCar race
Penske Chevy Team wins another IndyCar pole
Josef Newgarden turned the fastest lap in the stacked Group 2 qualifying group to win pole position for Saturday's 1st IndyCar race of a doubleheader weekend at Road America to be run today. Newgarden's lap of 1m45.519s was 2/10ths of a sec faster than Jack Harvey who topped Group 1 and will start outside the front row. Ryan Hunter-Reay had the 2nd fastest overall lap in his Andretti Honda but will start third behind Newgarden. Graham Rahal will start 4th with Will Power rounding out the top-5.
Hamilton takes Styrian GP pole in driving rain
1.2 secs faster than entire grid
Lewis Hamilton made a real statement in qualifying for the Styrian GP in heavy rain as he put his #44 Mercedes on pole by a stunning 1.216s over Red Bull's Max Verstappen who lost his car in the final corner of his last lap. But it would not have mattered as no one had anything for Lewis Hamilton on this day. Carlos Sainz Jr. was an excellent third for McLaren while Lando Norris was 6th in the other McLaren. Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon rounded out the top-5.
