Pirelli confirmed as exclusive supplier for the new era of FIA Formula Regional

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has confirmed that Pirelli has been appointed sole tire supplier for all Formula Regional championships certified by the FIA, which as from 2026 will use a new generation of car.

Pirelli is already the global partner of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and the FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 Championships and, with this announcement, it reaffirms its role as sole tire supplier for all FIA-run categories. In addition, Pirelli is also the designated sole tire supplier for the Formula Regional and Formula 4 World Cups to be run as part of the Macau Grand Prix from 13 to 16 November.

Pirelli has supplied tires to Formula Regional since its inception in 2019. Two years later, the European series became the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) following a merger with Formula Renault. Now it is poised for a major change with the introduction of a new car as from 2026. Pirelli will develop a new 15” tire for this car, which will provide a higher technical specification, more excitement on track and standardized performance across all championships. The aim is to provide a consistent development path for drivers, irrespective of the region in which they race. As the new car is gradually introduced across all the Formula Regional championships, Pirelli will extend its exclusive supply.

The Macau Grand Prix, at which Pirelli will also supply tires to competitors in the FIA GT World Cup, is one of the most important events on the motorsport calendar. This year’s edition will also feature the debut of the new FIA F4 World Cup, thereby aligning all the key junior categories to motor racing’s top level under the Pirelli banner. In Macau, the world’s best young drivers will take center stage on track in an event which has launched the careers of many Formula 1 world champions.
