Alpine team boss Fabio Briatore and Pierre Gasly

Formula 1 News: Alpine re-signs Pierre Gasly for 3 more years

During the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza, the BWT Alpine Formula One Team announced that Pierre Gasly has secured his future with the team, signing a contract extension through the 2028 FIA Formula One World Championship season.

This agreement underscores Gasly’s commitment to Alpine and reflects the team’s confidence in him as the driver to spearhead their efforts into the new regulatory era starting in 2026, guided by Flavio Briatore and backed by Renault Group’s new CEO, François Provost. The deal will see Gasly, who joined Alpine in 2023, race with the team for six seasons.

Gasly’s on-track performance and growing presence in the Formula One paddock have shown remarkable speed, consistency, and leadership. He secured podiums at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2024 São Paulo Grand Prix, playing a pivotal role in Alpine’s sixth-place finish in last season’s Constructors’ Championship.

“I’m thrilled to commit my future to Alpine,” Gasly said. “As a Frenchman, driving for a French team fills me with pride. Since joining in 2023, I’ve felt this is the right place for me. With Flavio’s support, François’ dedication to the F1 project, and the talented team at Enstone, this was an easy decision. I’m here to stay and deliver on our shared goal: winning races and championships together.”

Flavio Briatore added, “Since returning to the team, my focus has been on building Alpine’s competitiveness. We’re ready for the new era of Formula One starting in 2026, and securing Pierre as our lead driver is a key step. His attitude, dedication, and talent have been invaluable during this challenging period, and we’re excited to continue this journey together for years to come.”
