Starting this weekend, Confluent’s logo will adorn the halo and upper sidepods of the VCARB 02, signaling a collaboration that brings cutting-edge data streaming technology to the high-speed world of Formula 1.

In Formula 1, where split-second decisions can make or break a race, data is king. Each car generates thousands of data points per second—tracking everything from tire wear and fuel levels to aerodynamics and driver performance. Confluent’s platform will enable VCARB to harness this data in real time, creating a seamless flow of information between the car, pit wall, and factory. This “central nervous system” empowers faster, smarter decisions during races while accelerating engineering and logistics off the track.

“Formula 1 is about more than just the car—it’s about the data driving every decision,” said Jay Kreps, CEO and co-founder of Confluent. “Partnering with VCARB shows how real-time data streaming can be as critical as the engine. Every lap fuels insights for human decisions today and trains AI and machine learning models for tomorrow’s cars and strategies. We’re excited to innovate at this pace together.”

For VCARB, data is as vital as fuel. The team relies on telemetry and simulation data to shape race-day strategies and year-round performance development. “Every lap teaches us something new, and the faster we learn, the better we perform,” said Tim Goss, VCARB’s Chief Technical Officer. “Confluent gives us a competitive edge, not just for race-day calls but for post-race analysis and car design. These insights help us close the gap to the front of the grid.”

The partnership positions Formula 1 as a proving ground for Confluent’s technology, where the intense demands of racing test real-time data infrastructure to its limits. Beyond the track, the collaboration aims to create a continuous cycle of learning, enhancing engineering, logistics, and fan engagement. United by a shared “challenger” mindset, VCARB and Confluent are set to redefine what’s possible in racing—and beyond—by leveraging real-time data to gain a competitive edge.
