IMSA News: 53 cars on Motul Petit Le Mans Entry List
The Motul Petit Le Mans, the season finale for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Endurance Cup, will feature 53 entries for the ten-hour race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The near-capacity field includes 12 GTP cars, 12 LMP2s, 10 GTD Pro entries, and 19 GTD cars. (see Petit Le Mans entry list below.)
Notable driver lineups include Porsche Penske Motorsport’s Julien Andlauer and Laurens Vanthoor in the Nos. 6 and 7 Porsche 963s, respectively, with Vanthoor returning after wins at Daytona and Sebring. Cadillac’s Will Stevens, Norman Nato, and Frederik Vesti bolster Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing, while Kevin Magnussen, Robin Frijns, Scott Dixon, and others complete key GTP lineups.
In LMP2, Alex Quinn replaces Malthe Jakobsen in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by APR Oreca. GTD Pro sees Connor De Phillippi driving both Paul Miller Racing BMWs, with Dani Juncadella and Nico Varrone back in Corvette entries.
GTD includes Rory van der Steur’s return for Van der Steur Racing and a shuffled Cetilar Racing lineup with Roberto Lacorte and Miguel Molina. The event, one car shy of the track’s 54-car limit, begins track action on October 9.
