WTR Announces 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Line Up

IMSA News: WTR Announces 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Line Up

Wayne Taylor Racing announced today their return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship, fielding four cars across two classes. With a commitment to driver and team development, WTR’s return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo grid continues to be supported by defending Dealership Champions, Lamborghini Palm Beach, for a fourth-consecutive season.

Entering the 2026 season, the team now boasts 18 championship titles and two World Finals Championships where, in 2025, the Wayne Taylor Racing team earned its second World Finals Championship and collectively secured five LSTNA championships (PRO Drivers’, AM Drivers’, World Finals, Team and Dealership) and 21 wins – marking one of the most successful years in team history. The team also secured an historic milestone of clinching 101 wins over its 10-year history with the series.Hampus Ericsson and Nick Persing will compete together for the first time as co-drivers in the PRO Class for the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season in the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST. Marking Ericsson’s second year driving for WTR in LSTNA, the reigning World Finals and LSTNA PRO Champion driver returns after a successful 2025. Persing returns for his third season as a full-time driver for WTR – and his second within the PRO class – following a breakthrough 2025 season that included his first overall LSTNA victory, sweeping the weekend at the Californian’s home track, Laguna Seca. The duo of Ericsson and Persing have proven that they will be championship contenders entering the PRO field.

Wayne Taylor Racing newcomers and first-time teammates, Al Morey IV and James Wallis, join the team’s PRO class lineup for 2026 to drive the No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST. Morey IV returns to the grid for his second season in the PRO class and his third overall in Super Trofeo competition. The Indiana-native recorded two podiums in the PRO category during the 2025 season and earned a nomination for Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s Young Driver Program. Wallis joins the WTR stable as a fresh face to LST following two successful seasons in Porsche Carrera Cup competition across the Middle East and Great Britain. In 2025, the British-driver reached the podium more than 10 times across the two championships, claiming one victory and Vice Champion honors in the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East PRO Class.

Teaming up for the first time in Super Trofeo competition, Graham Doyle and Danny Formal will compete together in the PRO|AM class to pilot the No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST. As the 2025 AM Champion, Doyle enters his first PRO|AM season but is well-established after four years climbing the Super Trofeo ladder. Doyle will balance competing in all six doubleheader LST weekends along with co-driving in the No. 45 Lamborghini GTD for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events. Formal, a full-time driver for WTR in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship No. 45 DEX Lamborghini GTD, will once again run a “double duty” program. The Costa Rican-native is no stranger to success in Super Trofeo, having most recently secured the 2025 World Finals and PRO Driver Championship titles in addition to his back-to-back class titles in 2022 and 2023.

Completing the WTR lineup for 2026 is the PRO|AM pairing of Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller in the No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST. Nemschoff enters his fourth consecutive season racing alongside Miller where they finished third in the 2025 LSTNA PRO|AM class championship and earned four podiums. Miller brings extensive sports car experience, highlighted by his 2016 Petit Le Mans victory along with appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Spa 24 Hours, and other major endurance events.  After setting the tone in 2025, Nemschoff and Miller are ready to build off their strong momentum while being consistent podium contenders in LST competition.

The Wayne Taylor Racing stable of LST driver and teams will begin 2026 with a pre-season test on March 9-10 ahead of the first race at Sebring International Raceway on March 18-20. From there, the schedule for LST includes WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 1-3, Watkins Glen International on June 25-27, Road America on July 30-August 1, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 18-20. To complete the 2026 season, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals will take place October 22-25 with the final North American competition and the international stage of World Finals being held in Monza, Italy.

Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Quotes

Hampus Ericsson, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “So happy to finally get the LST season going! And what better way than staying for a second year with officially the best team in 2025 – Wayne Taylor Racing! We had a mega performance last year winning the World Finals and North America championship, which makes me eager and motivated to try and replicate it in 2026, and staying in WTR means everything for me to be able to perform at my best. I learned so much last year, sharing the car with Danny taught me so much and to join the whole crew gave me a new perspective about professionalism. To be able to build on that for another year, I’m sure I’ll take another step in my development as a person, and as a driver. Since we kick started last year with a dominant double win in Sebring, it’s the target to try our best and do the same this year. I have a new teammate in Nick, and I’m confident we’ll be a real threat from the beginning. I’m very happy to share the car with him considering his performance last year and what a person he is outside the track as well! We’ll do everything we can to bring gold to WTR.”

Nick Persing, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “I’m really excited to be back with Wayne Taylor Racing for another Lamborghini Super Trofeo season. This team has set the standard in the series, and I’m grateful for the chance to chase more success together. The goal is simple this year – we’re here to fight for the Championship. Having the defending champion, Hampus, in the car brings a huge level of experience and confidence to our program. I’m looking forward to contributing to that success together and building on that chemistry right away. Sebring is the perfect place to start. It’s one of the toughest tracks we go to, and it demands precision every lap. That challenge is what makes it so rewarding. I want to get the most out of the pre-season test, learn everything I can, and roll that momentum straight into the race weekend.”

Al Morey IV, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “Honestly it means everything to join Wayne Taylor Racing, it is still surreal to me. It’s an incredible opportunity to race for the best team to ever do it. I am very proud to represent WTR this year, both on and off the track. Coming into my third year in Super Trofeo, I, along with the team, have very high expectations for myself. I fully expect that James and I will be fighting for wins and podiums every weekend. I am focused on extracting the most out of myself and the car this year to achieve maximum results for the team. I’m very excited to be working with everyone on the team, especially our engineers. I think that with their help, I will be able to grow my skills and maximize what I can get out of the car. I’ve been to Sebring plenty of times, but the pre-season test is always super important, especially with a new team and teammate. It’s a chance to familiarize myself with everyone and the team’s procedures. It’ll also be great to shake the rust off from the off season; the first round can’t come soon enough!”

James Wallis, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “I can’t wait to get started in America with Wayne Taylor Racing. They have an amazing history of results, and I hope to emulate these. It will be a new challenge for me (in Lamborghini Super Trofeo) and I’m looking forward to meeting the team for the first time at the Sebring test. I don’t really have many expectations to be honest; I’m just looking to go and learn as much as I can and as long as it all goes smoothly, I hope to be competing at the front. It’s great I am with such an experienced team considering I’m setting foot in a country which I haven’t spent much time in.”

Graham Doyle, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “Coming back to Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2026 LST season is truly an honor. With my experience in LST, and the success I’ve had over the past three years highlighted by my championship last season, I can’t wait to get back to work. Working with this team and partnering up with Danny gives me a lot of confidence heading into the year. The goal is simple; we want to fight for the Championship. That means maximizing every session, being consistent, and executing on race day. Starting the season at Sebring will be a fun challenge, but for the pre-season test we feel prepared and ready to take on any and all of the challenges of this year. Again, I just can’t wait to finally share a LST car with Danny and continue to learn and grow alongside him.”

Danny Formal, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “The 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season will look a little different for me. This will be my fifth year with Wayne Taylor Racing in this incredible championship, my first time competing in PRO|AM next to Graham Doyle. I’m super excited to get going and get started. Coming out of the 2025 season with the World Finals and North America Championships in the No. 1 PRO car, PRO|AM is definitely a different challenge. I’m very excited and looking forward to it. Graham and I have become super close, almost like brothers. I’m also super excited to help all the new teammates that we have this year. It’s so cool to see the program of Lamborghini Super Trofeo keep growing with WTR. We will be trying to get championships in all the classes that we are in. I’m super excited for Sebring and the rest of the season then to end in Monza – the most iconic racetrack I can remember going to.”

Paul Nemschoff, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “Marc and I are very excited to join WTR. Last year we finished the season championship on the podium, and we believe this positions us for great success in 2026! The access to the people and resources gives us a tremendous foundation for the 2026 season. Both Marc and I are excited to work with WTR and the other teams.  We podiumed last year at Sebring, but it’s a demanding track.”

Marc Miller, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “The Wayne Taylor Racing organization has always been consistently at the top of the charts. Paul and I found quick success in the PRO|AM category and have logged several podiums in our three seasons together. We hope together with WTR we can contend for race wins on a consistent basis. Our goal is to continue to learn and develop as a driver pairing and make that next step up the order. It would be great to be fighting for race wins. Looking at the roster for WTR, it is a stacked field of strong drivers being supported by great engineers and mechanics. That means there is more data samples to look at to find incremental and noticeable improvements. Last season was Paul’s first time to Sebring. It is a challenging track with a lot of little nuances to pick up on, and we were happy to debut the 2025 season with a strong P2 results. It will be valuable, however, to get more track time with a new team at the test.”
