Grace Autosport to run more than just Indy 500?

UPDATE This rumor is downgraded to false today. Stefan Wilson has emerged as prime candidate for the third KVSH Racing seat at the 100th running of the Indy 500, after Grace Autosport’s negotiations with the team ended reports motorsport.com.

The Kevin Kalkhoven/Jimmy Vasser/James Sullivan-owned team was in serious discussions to run the Grace Autosport car for Katherine Legge and as recently as two weeks ago, Kalkhoven believed a deal was close.

However, Vasser told Motorsport.com this week that talks had ended, although he would not state on the record why the deal foundered.

Beth Paretta and Katherine Legge could be planning more than just an Indy 500 effort in 2016.

07/27/15 You probably remember the announcement of Grace Autosport this past May. The first all-female team in the Verizon IndyCar Series has already confirmed it will field an entry for Katherine Legge in next year's 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.

In this Crain's Detroit Business article, team director Beth Paretta says Grace Autosport will likely align itself with another team for the 500. While confirmed to enter the Indy 500, Paretta says that Grace is perhaps looking at doing other races, perhaps the Chevrolet Belle Isle Detroit Grand Prix, located near the team's home base in Birmingham, MI. Paretta also noted that the Michigan tie-in would make aligning with Chevrolet something of a natural fit.

Another intriguing tidbit in the article was Paretta saying there could up to as many as 50 entries going for 33 spots in next year's 500.
