Ducati Team have officially released the covers off the Desmosedici GP19 with riders Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci joining the likes of Luigi Dall’Igna, Paolo Ciabatti and Davide Tardozzi in Neuchatel, Switzerland on Friday 18th January.

Take a look at Ducati’s 2019 machine in all its glory.

The addition of 'Mission Winnow' branding means Ducati follows in the footsteps of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, with which it shares a common primary sponsor in the form of tobacco firm Philip Morris.

Ferrari added the white logos to its F1 cars ahead of last year's Japanese Grand Prix.

Ducati has not run explicit tobacco branding since the 2009 Qatar Grand Prix, but has maintained the Marlboro cigarette brand's traditional red-and-white colour scheme ever since.

The squad's official name has also changed to 'Mission Winnow Ducati Team' for the new campaign.

The branding of Ducati's parent company Audi is now also on the Desmosedici bike for the first time.

What is Mission Winnow?

Philip Morris International is a leading international tobacco company, with a diverse workforce of around 81,000 people who hail from every corner of the globe.

The company is dedicated to doing something very dramatic – replacing cigarettes with smoke-free products.

That’s why it counts a total of over 400 dedicated scientists, engineers, and technicians developing less harmful alternatives to cigarettes at two Research & Development sites in Switzerland and Singapore.

It’s the biggest shift in company’s history and the right one for consumers, company itself, shareholders, society.

Mission Winnow is the showcase of this transformation. It is the story of the relentless, passionate pursuit of excellence by winnowing good from bad, truth from fiction to make decisions that deliver better. From the way the company communicate to the core of its business model.

PMI is on a journey that will last for years but along the way it will work to improve through the constant quest for better solutions. The company will continuously aim at upgrading processes, products and services to show proof of an absolute commitment to every day, becoming a better organization. That is winnowing.
