Champ Car to dock Bourdais and Rahal

UPDATE #3 Correction: The 22 second penalty represents two runs down the front straight, not one.

11/11/07 The rubber is being cleaned off the track so the drivers will not have any advantage on the start.

11/11/07 This rumor is upgraded to 'fact.' Both Bourdais and Rahal were doing practice starts during this morning's warm-up in their start line positions and laying down rubber to help their standing starts later today. Executive Director of Operations and Race Director Tony Cotman announced that both drivers have been docked 22 seconds from their 70 seconds of P2P allocation. The 22 seconds penalty represents one less press on the P2P button on the very long Mexico City front straight, rather significant here.

11/11/07 We are getting word that Champ Car is going to penalize both NHLR drivers – Sebastien Bourdais and Graham Rahal. More later….
