Stremme to drop to Busch in ’08

Axed Ganassi Racing driver David Stremme is pretty blunt when he talks about his Sprint Cup prospects for 2008. "I got nothing," Stremme said Thursday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway. "I'm beating on doors trying to find something. We've talked to a few people, but it's tough right now."

"You can't wait much," Stremme said. "I was let out of my deal real late, and that hurts. It's all part of the business. I feel I belong at this level. We'll just see how things work out."

The 30-year-old Stremme, who will be replaced by Dario Franchitti, could be headed to the Nationwide Series at least temporarily?

"I probably have talked to more Cup teams than I have Busch teams," Stremme said. "I feel I have proven to be at this level."

"It could be worse," Stremme said. "I could be out digging ditches or doing something else. You can always say, 'This could be better' or 'that could be better' but it could be a lot worse, too. At least I'm able to walk around. I'm healthy. And I feel that I have enough talent to be at this level."
