IRL after Las Vegas race

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. The following statement is from Champ Car to AutoRacing1.com.

"The idea of the IRL coming to Las Vegas is unfounded. They approached our promoters about Las Vegas but that was quickly dismissed."

So they tried and were once again unsuccessful.

10/03/07 Rumor has it that there are now two parties trying to buy the rights of the Las Vegas race from Dale Jensen – Champ Car (read that Kevin Kalkhoven) and the IRL (read that Andretti Green Racing – AGR – with financial help from Tony George). This isn't the first time the IRL and AGR has tried to take a race that Champ Car built. They previously bought the St. Petersburg GP and the Detroit GP, they tried to snatch the Cleveland GP years ago and they tried to grab the Long Beach GP when CART filed for bankruptcy.
