Will McDonald’s move over to Rahal’s car?

Rumor has it that the McDonald's sponsorship that the Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing team had on the Sebastien Bourdais car could move over to the Graham Rahal car because we hear Rahal's sponsor, Medi | Zone, probably will not be back next year. If true this opens up the Bourdais seat for either Justin Wilson or Robert Doornbos. If you recall our previous rumor, Doornbos supporter Harry Muermans was keen on placing Doornbos in the departing Bourdais seat. Likewise, at one point in time CDW was interested in backing Wilson in the Bourdais seat, but we hear they, like Medi | Zone, probably are not returning in 2008. Medi | Zone, like Red Bull, hardly did any activation with their sponsorship this year so it does not surprise us if they join Red Bull and CDW making an exodus after the season is over. If these rumors are true, that would mean three less cars have sponsorship for 2008, making this coming off-season for Champ Car that much more challenging.
