Champ Car China race could run holiday weekend

UPDATE This rumor is downgraded to 'speculation' and we hear it will almost definitely go to 'false' because the FIA simply isn't going to grant Champ Car a new date this year – it is not part of their process to grant dates and then change them. Expect Champ Car to soon cancel this event. With that said, it's on for 2008, probably in October we hear, right after the Surfers weekend.

07/12/07 Hearing that Champ Car may run their China race on Thanksgiving weekend (a big holiday weekend in the USA) that they had hoped to run in October but that date was denied by the FIA. The race would run one week prior to the Phoenix season closer. Running on Thanksgiving Weekend will have a negative impact of the teams but it really does not matter as far as TV goes in the rest of the world and of course that is not a holiday in China so the race could still meet with great success.
