Tundra already making dent in Ford truck sales

Rumor has it that Toyota's Tundra pickup truck as well as Honda's Ridgeline, may be taking sales away from Ford's best selling line.

Ford Motor Co.'s U.S. sales fell in March as the second-largest U.S. automaker sold fewer F-Series pickup trucks, the company's sales analyst told Bloomberg News today. Sales to individual buyers and to rental-car companies and corporate fleets also declined from a year earlier, sales analyst George Pipas said in an interview before a company media briefing. Ford sold 84,168 F-Series trucks in March 2006, the most in any month last year. Sales were down last month too.

Meanwhile Ford is in NASCAR's truck series getting its clock cleaned by Toyota week in and week out further eroding it's image to the buying public.
