Ford’s USA racing budget

Chris Economaki reports in National Speed Sport News that "Despite losing $12.7 billion last year, it was surprising to Ford Racing Technology headman Dan Davis that the parent company so quickly approved his estimated $20-million 2007 racing budget. Included in it is financing for nine full-time Nextel Cup cars. Savvy business types put Ford’s investment in NASCAR, including marketing, at just short of $100 million. Financial reasons, however, did dictate that FoMoCo end its Champ Car World Series support."

Rumors suggest that Toyota is spending $100M a year on its NASCAR racing budget, and that's not including marketing.
