01/13/07 As we rumored below, we hear Australian Ryan Briscoe will indeed race for the Penske Porsche LMP2 RS Spyder team in the 2007 American Le Mans Series. A mid-January announcement is expected. We have removed Briscoe from our 2007 Champ Car Silly Season page.
01/12/07 Hearing that Jos Verstappen could land in the 2nd Forsythe Champ Car seat alongside Paul Tracy and Katherine Legge could land at the 2nd second RuSPORT seat alongside Justin Wilson. With Wilson and Legge being Brits there is some talk of RuSPORT being rebranded as a British team. Legge could also land in a third PKV car that is subbed out to Polestar out of the PKV shop or the third Minardi seat…………Heard again that Scott Speed could end up at PKV alongside Neel Jani in an all-Red Bull team……Hearing that Ryan Briscoe will end up at Team Australia in Champ Car or in an ALMS ride……..Hearing that Jimmy Vasser and Tom Knapp may form a new Champ Car Atlantic team. Tom engineered Indy Cars years ago, and we believe in CART before that……Look for Gehl to be the primary sponsor on the Graham Rahal Champ Car…….We hear Stephen Simpson definitely has sponsor backing and could very well end up at Mi-Jack as we rumored………The same source tells us that Gelles Racing thought that Simpson would be moving up with them to Champ Car but something happened and when Gelles lost Simpson and his financial backing his Champ Car plans took a hit……..Pacific Coast, PKV and Forsythe have taken delivery of their 2nd DP01, not sure who the other two teams were…….See our updated Champ Car Silly Season page…..If you walk around Las Vegas you know there is a GP coming to town – the race is being promoted heavily.
