The Busch series’ demise

In today’s Orlando Sentinel Dale Earnhardt Jr "decries" that the Busch series awards went to all Cup drivers and the up-and-coming drivers are nowhere to be seen. 31 of 33 races were won by Cup drivers. We agree with Earnhardt and do like him as a person but wonder why he supports the demise of the series by participating. We liken this to Derek Jeter and Mike Piazza playing in minor league baseball games to bolster their already giant salaries. Makes no sense to us at all.
