Gidley and Meira eye ALMS

Highcroft Racing has brought on current IRL star Vitor Meira and Memo Gidley – of CART and IRL fame – to drive its LMP1 Lola at next week's Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda CX-7. Highcroft is one of three teams that will campaign Acura-powered LMP2 entries next year in the American Le Mans Series, and the team is believed to have taken delivery of its Courage LC75 with testing to begin shortly after Petit. Speculation is that Meira and Gildley both would like to pilot one of the Acuras next year, and Petit Le Mans will serve as an "audition."
