Another potential new Champ Car team emerges

Veteran crew chief Peter Parrott will run the Panoz DP01 testing program for Champ Car. Parrott worked for Penske for many years as Rick Mears chief mechanic. More recently he worked for Mo Nunn’s team. Parrott wants to put together his own Champ Car team and is the perfect choice to run the test program.

“Pete’s a seasoned veteran and I think they’re lucky to have him available to them," Derrick Walker remarked. “He comes with a ton of experience and he’s not afraid to speak his mind. He’s a detail guy and if he knows there are some problems, he’ll track what he sees and what he finds. I have no doubt that he’ll be a good custodian of this program during these exploratory tests."
