Real-estate mogul Ginn to purchase MB2

The sale of MB2 Motorsports to real estate and resort developer Bobby Ginn should shore up the Nextel Cup team's short- and long-term future.

The deal, which will be announced Wednesday at a news conference at a Ginn Clubs & Resorts property in Orlando, will include a 10-race primary sponsorship this year for Sterling Marlin's No. 14 Chevrolet, solidifying a car that had lacked full-season funding.

But Ginn, who purchased the majority stake from MB2 founder Nelson Bowers, has bigger plans for the team. Besides a likely name change for 2007, he wants to expand to four cars within a few years and plans on having one car sponsored exclusively by his varied businesses interests. More at USA Today
