Danica gets sweetheart deal at AGR

According to AutoRacing1.com sources, when Danica Patrick inked her new deal with Andretti Green Racing for 2007 (with option years) she instantly became the highest paid open wheel driver in America. We hear her base salary is $3 million per year. Add to that the standard 40% of purse winnings (50% if she finishes in the top 3), 50% of the Indy 500 purse winnings plus 25% of any new sponsors she brings to the team and Danica can earn $10 million in 2007.

Not bad for a driver that has never won a race! We doubt that sits very well with the male drivers who dominate the sport.
