Renault Motorsports President steps down

UPDATE This rumor is now upgraded to 'fact.' Renault motorsport president Patrick Faure stepped through the formula one turnstiles for the last time on Sunday night in Bahrain.

After twenty one years in the sport, the 59-year-old announced to French press that Fernando Alonso's victory had been his final event before retiring.

Sports newspaper L'Equipe said Faure would be replaced by another 59-year-old Frenchman — Alain Passas.

Renault has confirmed the departure of the F1 team's president Patrick Faure. and stated that fellow 59-year-old Frenchman Alain Dassas will replace him at the start of April, a statement said on Monday. Dassas joined Renault in 1983.
