IRL office leaked merger talks rumor

UPDATE This rumor is downgraded to 'false' today. IRL spokesperson Fred Nation told AutoRacing1.com, "I have been in contact with the editors of AutoWeek and they deny that the source of their report was a fax of any kind from the Indy Racing League. I have been in touch with Autosport. I assume they will correct this at some point."

02/25/06 The latest round of merger talks between the two series (IRL and Champ Car) came when a fax was leaked from IRL offices to US weekly magazine AutoWeek, stating that Kalkhoven and George had been skiing together, and were now in regular communication. Autosport.com

Probably done by someone who is afraid they will lose their job if the two series merge.
