Red Bull eyes Montoya

According to reports in the German press, Red Bull Racing are interested in securing the services of Juan Pablo Montoya, who, it is thought, would be interested in joining the man he replaced last season, David Coulthard, in an Adrian Newey designed car.

McLaren has failed to take up an option on both Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen on December 31st, making them both free agents. Raikkonen will likely go to Ferrari if Schumacher retires after 2006, but stay at McLaren if not. Montoya would probably keep his seat at McLaren if Raikkonen goes to Ferrari, but could switch to Red Bull if Raikkonen stays to be teammate to Fernando Alonso who has already signed with McLaren.
