F1 teams won’t limit testing in 2006

Because of Ferrari's refusal to limit testing, it is not likely the other nine teams will in 2006. Despite a possible new test limit agreement, Formula 1's teams are not likely to allow Ferrari a testing advantage in 2006. BAR Honda's Nick Fry had this to say about Ferrari and testing in general:

"There is a draft agreement for 2006, but unlike this year, I think we'll see a restriction only if ten teams agree. We can't allow a competitor like Ferrari to maintain a competitive advantage like that."

Since Ferrari will likely not sign any new agreement on testing it is very likely for the wealthy teams in Formula 1 to be testing almost as often as Ferrari. Ferrari tested for about 80 days this season, more than twice as much as the 30 day testing limit agreed to by the other nine Formula 1 teams and if testing continues like this, cost cutting goals will certainly not be reached.
