Panther Racing/Champ Car rumors

UPDATE Panther Racing cut loose 12 mechanics in the first of what figures to be many layoffs in the Indy Racing League. SPEEDTV.com 10/14/05 Panther Racing could lose its entire driver lineup to Champ Car. The rumor mill says Vitor Meira has been spending a lot of time over at the Panther shop and may be moving to that team in 2006 from Team Rahal. Rumor is that Pennzoil will be back as an associate and John Mansville (without) Menards will be his sponsor. Tomas Scheckter may run for the South African A1GP team and there have been previous rumors that he is eyeing Champ Car (his manager was at the last Champ Car race and Champ Car is eyeing a possible South Africa race). Tomas Enge and his Rockstar sponsorship may be moving to Champ Car. Rockstar had a definite presence at the last Champ Car race in Las Vegas.
