Was France family behind Honda and the IRL?

A reader speculates, Re. Honda's IRL commitment. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have five bucks that says the France family told Honda that they had to re-up with the IRL if they wanted entry in NASCAR’s Nextel Cup series for two reasons: 1) Keeps events at ISC (France’s) racetracks, 2) Prolongs the ‘spilt’ and further dilutes open-wheel racing as a competitor to taxicab racin’.
