Rumor has it that for a few hundred extra dollars Elan Technologies can design the new Champ Car with the slight bodywork modification shown to the right in red (Click to enlarge). There are two primary benefits 1) It makes the car look better in profile, 2) It opens up some 'prime' extra bodywork real estate for which teams can collect much needed additional sponsor revenue. The beauty of the simple change is that it does not stick up and make the car look hideous like an IRL or F1 engine air intake. The car still looks like a Champ Car.
