Glock to Porsche? Honda?

UPDATE Our European correspondent tells us bit different story – that Timo has an offer from ALMS, but not from Porsche, from Honda! And as far as we heard, he's not really keen to race sportscars, but he would be paid well for the drive, which has him thinking about it. In Champ Car he's the one who's got to fork out the cash.

The plan for Timo was to do another year in Champ Car, just to underline his good performance this year. It would be stupid to throw away all the experience he's gained so far and go racing sportscars, for he eventually hopes to return to F1, if possible in 2007. Moreover, he's left a very good impression with everyone in Champ Car and they would like to keep him (especially if they have plans to return to the EuroSpeedway – see EuroSpeedway rumor, as that race always needed a German driver).

It could be that Glock could race for Honda in ALMS one year and then hope for them to give him a shot in one of their F1 teams…..

As far as DHL is concerned, they want to enter the American market big time and if Timo stays in Champ Car, the DHL money should remain as well. If Champ Car is clever enough they could get more from DHL. Rocketsports needs to elevate their game as the best way to keep DHL in the series is for Glock to be contending for wins.

10/13/05 Our sources in Europe tell us that Rocketsports driver Timo Glock may be racing for DHL again next year, but it may be in ALMS with the DHL Penske Porsche, not in Champ Car. We do not believe a deal is done yet, but if true, Champ Car has probably lost the DHL sponsorship. Champ Car can't afford to lose sponsors like this.
