Gascoyne to BMW team?

Mike Gascoyne has denied rumors that he could leave Toyota and become technical director at the new BMW works team (Sauber).

The Briton told website grandprix.com that he has not had 'one single conversation or discussion on the subject.'

42-year-old Gascoyne, perhaps the highest paid technical director in pitlane with a reputed $8m salary, recently moved from Renault to Toyota, but has also worked for McLaren, Tyrrell, Jordan — and, in the early 90s, Sauber.

Gascoyne, whose paddock nickname is 'the bulldog', said earlier in 2005: ''The pressure on Toyota to succeed in formula one is unprecedented.''

The same website also reported that Polish driver Robert Kubica might be drafted in to replace Minardi's 'Friday' tester Enrico Toccacelo in Japan and China.
