Nigerian NASCAR team in works

Prince Malik ado Ibrahim, a Nigerian who was briefly involved in F1 in the 1990s, when he was announced as a 20% owner of the Arrows F1 team. Alas, Malik failed to come up with the money needed and disappeared from the scene soon afterwards, leaving Arrows to struggle on until its demise. Malik's idea of creating an F1 brand (called T-Minus) and funding the team with the money raised was not a big success.

Malik is now talking about running a team called Maverick Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and is talking big about plans for the future in the NASCAR Nextel Cup. It will be interesting to see how Malik does in the USA after a less-than-impressive "career" in F1 circles. Grandprix.com
