Mario to stop Marco from going to NASCAR

Phil Hill and Mario Andretti still maintain interest in Formula One for personal reasons as well as professional.

Hill's 30-year-old son, Derek, has been trying to make his way up the European road racing ladder with his eye on the elite series. Andretti's 18-year-old grandson, Marco, has shown promise in American steppingstone series and an interest in top-level road racing.

"Now and then Michael talks about testing him in a Busch car, and it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up," Andretti said, referring to his son, Marco's father, whose own F1 run ended in frustration. "(NASCAR) is not a direction the Andrettis are going to go." JSOnline.com
