Jordan to stick with Toyota
Jordan/Midland team principal Colin Kolles says the team will soon announce their 2006 engine plans. Jordan currently use Toyota engines. "I think with the engine, there will be some announcement very soon," said Kolles. "I think the relationship between Jordan, Midland and Toyota is not so bad. I think that we are working very well together, it is very positive, and regarding the engineering side, you know that we started with Dallara, building up the team from scratch with the engagement of Dallara. "This is continuing until December 31 and we are building up also to improve the intellectual property of the team, bringing in new people, new young people, and new ideas. The decrease in number of personnel has basically stopped and it is increasing now."
Toyota president, John Howett meanwhile added it is their 'intention' that will supply Jordan with a V8 engine in 2006, when the regulations change, consigning the V10's to history. Midland had been rumored to be talks with both Mercedes and Ferrari about engines prior to their take-over of the Jordan team in January, but the Ferrari deal has now gone to Red Bull.
