Raikkonen and Ferrari

F1 young guns Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso have deflected talk they are the likely heirs to world champion Michael Schumacher's Ferrari crown. Both are linked with a future switch to the team in scarlet.

''The most important thing for me,'' Finland's Raikkonen – last start winner in his McLaren – said, ''is to drive for the best team. For the moment I feel very happy with McLaren Mercedes.''

Renault's 23-year-old Alonso, on the other hand – tied to the blue and yellow outfit until the end of 2006 – conceded that his future beyond next year is not certain.

The Spaniard said in Istanbul on Sunday: ''I don't worry about Ferrari, whether Michael Schumacher will retire or if Ferrari want me.'' He added: ''I have confidence to win with Renault.'' GMMF1.net
