Toyota in trouble

Missing paperwork could lead to Toyota losing second place in the drivers' and constructors' F1 championships. It is reported in the unpublished June edition of F1 Racing magazine that the Cologne based team did not have a valid national 2005 license – therefore an FIA superlicense – until last Sunday's Barcelona grand prix.

''This has now been resolved with the German authorities,'' team president John Howett confirmed, ''and the revised documents have now been submitted to the FIA.''

He added: ''This was a genuine administrative mistake.'' Although a heavy sanction, if any, is unlikely, the FIA said it is investigating the matter.
