Wurz to get Imola gong

Alex Wurz will test the current MP4-20 McLaren twice prior to Imola, indicating that he – not Pedro de la Rosa – would replace a still-injured Juan Pablo Montoya. The tall Austrian hinted that going fastest in Friday practice was to 'prove a point. ''I think I showed I was going fast no matter what (specification) I was driving,'' the 'third' driver said. Contractually, Wurz is McLaren's 'reserve' driver, but he didn't fit in the 20's skinny cockpit until last week. Alexander added in Bahrain: ''I think the McLaren test pairing, me and Pedro, is better than maybe some race pairings.''
