Melbourne could lose GP
With all of the political infighting occurring within Formula One it's been revealed that Melbourne has a very good chance of losing the Australian Grand Prix. Should the series be split and the majority of teams head to the GPWC it would mean that the current contract with Melbourne would essentially be voided. This would leave the door open for Adelaide to reclaim the event and rumor has it that they are putting together a bid if circumstances are right. This comes straight off the back of the war that has arisen between Victoria and South Australia over the contract to build the naval destroyers. With Grand Prix chairman Ron Walker backing Bernie Ecclestone it would certainly get the GPWC off side, possibly enough for them to give the race to Adelaide. The Australian Grand Prix Corporation have dismissed such claims, but there is a very strong possibility the race will head back to Adelaide. La Source
