Magnussen eyes NASCAR

Former Danish F1 driver Jan Magnussen has admitted that he'd love to try NASCAR. Speaking during a meeting for members of his fan-club, he added that he has been won over by NASCAR, after hearing Terry and Bobby Labonte rave about it during the recent Daytona 24 hours. "I would love to drive in NASCAR," the Corvette driver said.

"I would really love the challenge. I have only driven one race on an oval – in Champ Car at Chicago in 1999 – and I loved it. It was the most exciting form of racing you can imagine with action on every lap."

"Doing NASCAR would be great," continued Magnussen, who will drive at Sebring, the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Petit Le Mans for Corvette this year, while also taking part in the Danish Touring Car Championship and selected Grand-Am races for Doran-Pontiac "It has been difficult for Europeans in NASCAR but I am ready to take on the challenge if I get the chance. I drove the recent Daytona 24 hours with Terry and Bobby Labonte and I loved everything they told me about NASCAR."
